Alkaloids in Kratom and Citric Acid

Among the things which make kratom so wonderful is that the alkaloids within the kratom leaves.  Not a lot of folks understand that alkaloids are soluble in alcohols and acids.  If you include some acid it helps raise the potency and extract the alkaloids, when brewing kratom tea.  Mixing the acid and the water, make for a excellent extraction method.  With a little freshly squeezed oranges make for a yummy and medicinally effective beverage.  Acids such as the citric acid in orange juice help with extraction and absorption of the alkaloids. Essentially, acid prepares the alkaloids to our bodies stomach and they get used up.

Orange Juice and Kratom

Adding Orange juice into kratom is taking all of this and bringing it to a new level.  Orange juice is like a fruit when it comes to using it.  Orange juice has a number of chemicals that enhance the use of kratom including the naringin, together with bergamottin, the 2 furanocoumarins and dihydroxybergamottin.  At higher doses these chemicals inhibit CYP3A4.  It is by increasing their bioavailability that orange juice increases the effects of many different drugs.  Basically, if you’ve got some orange juice with your kratom the effects will come on longer and quicker .

Out of all of the ways of extracting the alkaloids from kratom, using citric acid is undoubtedly the best.  Unlike alcohols, you’re not adding any material that can add effects that are unique.  Oftentimes, the acid in oranges can reduce the kratom leaf’s bitterness. When you add some juice, you can have your dose of kratom and allow the reaction occur in your stomach.  Next time you’re measuring your dose of Mitragyna speciosa out, you might want to try kratom and orange juice.
